Man in the Moon

This Tsimshian Moon Mask has always made me smile, it’s a happy face. So I have used this image as my Moon on this night when the Sockeye Salmon come to spawn. It lights up the clear river water to show the female making a nest out of the bed rock in the river as the male waits to fertilize the eggs. A sacrifice made every year to go home and spawn, and then they die. So my mask is a warm welcome of the Moon for this night.
